The Extraordinary Christmas Draw and its prizes
The Extraordinary Christmas Lottery of the Lotería Nacional is held every 22 December in the hall of Loterías y Apuestas del Estado. The following sections will explain how the lottery and its prizes operate.

We answer all the questions that may arise with regard to the general characteristics of the Christmas Lottery, which is held every year on 22 December:
How is the lottery carried out?
It is carried out with the Traditional Method, with one drum for numbers and another for prizes.

How long does it last?
Three and a half hours, approximately.
- How many series does it have?
195 series.
- How many tickets are in each series?
85,000 tickets in each series.
- How much does a complete number cost?
€39,000.
(195 series x €200 euros per series)
- How much does every ticket cost?
€200, divided into décimos (tenths).
- How much does each décimo (tenth) cost?
€20.

- How much does the entire issue total?
Three thousand three hundred and fifteen million euros (€3,315,000,000).
- How much is allocated to the prize?
70% of the issue, which totals two thousand three hundred and twenty million five hundred thousand euros (€2,320,500,000).
The remaining 30% is allocated to management and administration fees and the Public Treasury.
- How much does each series distribute in prizes?
Eleven million nine hundred thousand euros (€11,900,000).
- How many prizes are distributed?
Twenty-six million one thousand three hundred prizes (26,001,300 prizes ).
- How many numbers are in the drum?
ALL the 85,000 that play.
